Boca Raton Colleges and Universities
For those who live in Boca Raton, the opportunities for pursuing a higher education are seemingly endless. In addition to the numerous colleges and universities that are located in the city, there are several more colleges and universities located in the surrounding area. Given the low-cost of Florida’s university system, which continues to offer one of the lowest tuition rates in the country, pursuing a higher education remains an affordable option for many residents of Boca Raton.
Digital Media Arts College
Founded in 2001, the private Digital Media Arts College offers bachelor’s degrees in all of the following areas:
- Advertising Design
- Computer Animation
- Game Art Design
- Graphic Design
The school also offers a Master of Fine Arts degree in Graphic Design and Visual Effects Animation. The school currently enrolls approximately 350 students.
The small, private Everglades University awards bachelor’s and master’s degrees in a variety of areas. These include:

Florida Atlantic University
Established in 1961, Florida Atlantic University consists of ten colleges offering more than 147 different bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degree programs. The colleges found at Florida Atlantic University include:

As the largest university in Boca Raton, Florida Atlantic University serves more than 26,000 students and has a Division I athletics program.
Founded in 1962, the private, non-profit Lynn University awards associate’s, bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees. The university consists of five colleges. These include:
- College of Liberal Education
- College of Business and Management
- College of Education
- College of Hospitality Management
- College of International Communication
The university also has a School of Aeronautics, which is part of the College of Business and Management, as well as a Conservatory of Music.
Palm Beach State College
Located next to Florida Atlantic University, Palm Beach State College offers more than 100 programs ending in certificates, associate’s degrees and bachelor’s degrees. The school serves more than 52,000 students at its four campuses.
