Boca Raton Market Conditions Are Improving

Some encouraging news recently released by the Florida Association of Realtors. Palm Beach County home sales stopped falling during the month of March 2009. The median price for a single-family residence in Palm Beach County remained the same as February 2009 at $228,100, but still down 29% from March 2008. Home sales increased 20% from March 2008, with 685 sales during the month of March 2009. The decline in condo prices slowed down as well. The median condo price was $99,800, down slightly from February 2009 median condo price of $101,900. The number of condo sales for March 2009 increased 17% compared to March 2008. All in all good news.

Factors Influencing Market Improvements

Factors influencing the market conditions were all time low interest rates, affordable housing allowing more first time home buyers into the marketplace and federal tax incentives for first time home buyers. Higher end homes remained stalled because interest rates are higher on jumbo loans.
