Boca Raton's Mizner Park Installs Doggie Stations

City of Boca Raton installing seven doggie bag stations as a pleasant reminder to pick up the poop. Dog walkers rejoice as now the dog park isn't their only option for spending time with their furry friends. This solution comes out of the the past two city meetings where residents were wanting to be more dog friendly. The restaurants of Mizner are already so dog friendly that they have treats on the menu for canine friends. Any violators of this picking up the poop movement will be hit with fines, so all must remember the doggie bag stations are not just street decorations. The poop issue only received a few passing complaints, most agreed it will be a great benefit to Mizner's residents, four and two legged.Boca Raton Water Restrictions

City of Boca Raton New Water Restrictions- April 18, 2008
The new Boca Raton water and landscape restrictions for homes and businesses went into effect on April 18, 2008. Please note the new schedules:
Days and Times
Homes and businesses are now allowed to water two days a week. The days and times are determined by whether your address is odd or even.
Odd numbers:
Wednesday and Saturday 12 a.m. to 10 a.m.
and/or 4:00 p.m. to 11:59 p.m.
Even numbers, no numbers and mix of both odd and even numbers:
Thursday and Sunday 12 a.m. to 10 a.m. and/or 4:00 p.m. to
11:59 p.m.

…Palm Beach County Fire-Rescue Workers Trained on Advanced Rescue Techniques

The Palm Beach County Fire-Rescue Department recently traveled to Indianapolis to prepare for emergencies in an entire new way.
Five members of the county’s Fire-Rescue team attended the Fire Department Instructor’s Conference (FDIC), which drew an impressive 31,000 rescue personnel from around the world.
The FDIC has 80 years of experience training fire and rescue service workers. There are hundreds of classroom sessions, hands-on training, workshops, and over 900 companies participating in showcasing the latest products, technology and services.
One highlight was the on-site training that Lt. J. Craig Stanfield and firefighter-paramedic Joe Sekula received at a simulated building collapse. The mission was to find and retrieve six rescue
