Sugar Sand Park in Boca Raton

Sugar Sand Park

I spoke to a potential buyer from California the other day, she wanted to move her young family to Boca Raton. She was told by her friends that Boca Raton was full of retirees and there were very few young families. It's amazing that peoples perceptions are still that Florida is primarily a place to retire. This couldn't be further from the truth, and a perfect example, is the amazing park system in Boca Raton. There are in excess of 20 parks in Boca Raton and they boast a dizzying array of family activities.

My favorite is Sugar Sand Park, located on 132 lush acres in the heart of Boca. The park has a tri-level science playground, a gymnasium that hosts several sports tournaments and special events throughout the year. There is a children's science explorium, 155 seat theatre for plays and live entertainment. There are baseball fields, batting cages and an outdoor roller hockey rink. My kids love Sugar Sand because that's where they play in there basketball and baseball leagues, my youngest loves the open fields and carousel. Boca Raton is getting younger by the year and there are plenty of great family communities to choose from. If you would like more information on the park system or family communities to live in Boca Raton or the surrounding areas then please contact me today.

The Bridges - Boca Raton 2012

Brand new development called “The Bridges” is coming to the Boca Raton area the beginning of 2012. The developer has already broken ground and plans to build 656 homes on over 300 acres with houses starting at $500,000 to over $2 million. The community will have an impressive amenity package that will include a weekend bistro, indoor sports complex, tennis courts with pro shop, party pavilion, fitness studio and water play area.

The homes will range in size form 2500 – 7000 square feet and will boast many upgrades including granite counter tops, marble flooring and much more that will be announced. Just down the street they will be breaking ground on a brand new Publix anchored shopping center that will make shopping very convenient. The property is in an excellent location next to the upscale Mizner Country Club and Stone Creek Ranch, and just minutes from the Boca Towncenter Mall and tons of fine restaurants. Some people would question starting such a big project at these price points in this economic climate. The reality is that the Boca Raton market is so desirable that it is not as affected by economic factors as other parts of the state and country. There are buyers in this market that aren’t looking for distressed properties, they want something new and don’t want to deal with all of the headaches.
